DESCRIPTION:SKCC Weekend Sprintathon (WES) February \nUTC Dates and Times\nBegin:  Saturday February 14\, 2026   at 1200Z\nEnd:      Sunday   February 15\, 2026   at 2359Z \nThe event follows the same UTC year-round.  The local time will change as Daylight Saving Time takes effect or ends.    \nEastern Standard Local Dates and Times\nBegins:   Saturday    07:00 a.m.\nEnds:       Sunday       06:59 p.m. \nEastern Daylight Saving Local Dates and Times\nBegins:   Saturday    08:00 a.m.\nEnds:       Sunday       07:59 p.m. \nThis event repeats each month beginning on the second Saturday.\nOperate up to 36 hours. \nEVENT WEBSITE link:  https://www.skccgroup.com/operating_activities/weekend_sprintathon/ \n  \nThe SKCC Weekend Sprintathon often features some type of Bonus Points.\nFebruary theme — BOAT ANCHOR equipment (big\, heavy rigs that use vacuum tubes) \nBOAT ANCHOR stations will count the number of vacuum tubes in their radio gear — Transmitters\, Receivers\, Transceivers\, VFO and certain additional gear.\nSee the SKCC website (listed above) for specific information.\nBOAT ANCHOR stations will count the number of tubes in their radio equipment and transmit that number in their Exchange.\nStations receiving such a BOAT ANCHOR exchange will be awarded that number of Bonus Points.\nThe BOAT ANCHOR station itself does not earn these Bonus Points  (presumably unless they work another BOAT ANCHOR station and receive his/her tube count). \n  \nSKCC runs a monthly activity\, which is a great environment for getting comfortable with contest-like CW QSOs. \nThe Weekend Sprintathon (WES) spans a weekend\, each with a fun theme for collecting bonus points.\nThese events provide a great opportunity for those seeking various SKCC recognition levels\, besides contacting friends old and new! \nTypically\, SKCC operators will QRS to the speed of the station calling them \n  \n
