CARC will hold its POTA Event on Saturday May 4, 2024 at Pine Grove State Park.
This event is the rescheduled version of the POTA Event that had originally been planned for Saturday September 23, 2024. The September 23 event was rescheduled due to the cold, windy, and rainy weather conditions that were forecast for that day due to tropical storm Ophelia which is passing to the east of us.
Earlier in 2023 we selected the first Saturday of May as CARC Derby Day — the day of the Kentucky Derby and a busy day on the Ham Radio Contest Calendar with four State QSO Parties taking place (7QP, Indiana QP, Delaware QP, and New England QP. In 2024 we will combine POTA Day with Derby Day and cross our fingers hoping for good weather.

End: Monday November 04, 2024 0300Z

If you are chasing the Worked All States award you stand a very good chance of finding every state on-the-air this weekend.
Working every ARRL and RAC Section is called a CLEAN SWEEP. There is a lot of prestige in that accomplishment.

Let’s take this as preliminary information. I will fine-tune the details as they reach me.

As much as possible, please be seated at 11 a.m.
I believe their menu serves as the food choices. The last time I visited the website I found no mention of a buffet style brunch.
Your dinner check, beverages and gratuity are on you.
I will check with club leadership to see if we will offer some of the amenities that became a standard part of the event format under the former leadership.
In any case, please keep a watchful eye for communications from a CARC Leader requesting your attendance commitment or regrets. We really need to give the Restaurant Management a firm count by a certain date. When we make their job easy this year it becomes easy to get a reservation next year.
