• CARC FIELD DAY 2026.  Success!  Eleven members at Shaffer Park Cabin and one at home operated toward a club record, while eight members/visitors showed up just to watch, talk & eat!  Most of the 596 QSOs were 2-pointers (CW, Digital) & the twelve Bonus Point categories contributed.  Plans worked for antenna options & stations on CW/SSB/Digital, 80-6 meters,  Sandwich platter lunch, family-style dinner, & many yummies provided food options to fuel the whole event!   Hope YOU can join the fun next year!

• WORKING SPECIAL EVENT STATIONS.  Success!  Several CARC members scored a Clean Sweep in the 13 Colonies Special Event, even snagging the bonus stations in Philly, England, & France — certificates ordered & downloaded!  World Cup soccer’s host cities activated stations in the US, Canada & Mexico.  Special Event Stations provide a fun way to learn new stuff, practice operating in pileups, & and getting cool certificates or QSLs!

• WORKING POTA, CONTESTS & DX.  Success!  Members’ top POTA activity is shared in the monthly meeting agenda.  Activations are frequent & always fun!  Members shared QSLs from rare Bouvet Island.  Another member made first-ever FT8 QSOs at Field Day, installed the software on a PC at home, & worked two other CARC members before snagging Indonesia!

• WORKING SOMETHING NEW.  Game On!  VP Charlene Cash, WG3Q is challenging members in various ways.  Check into one of the CARC nets before next meeting!  Make a contact in a contest!

• BEYOND THE AIRWAVES.   Ice Cream Social,  Sunday August 2, 2026 beginning at 4 p.m.  Silver Side Cafe & Creamery, Mechanicsburg.  Bring family & friends!

• GUEST SPEAKERS AT HOSS’S.  Michael Brulo, W3MSB, is a fellow ham with a keen interest in weather & technology.  Maybe you’ve seen him reporting the weather on ABC27 WHTM-TV!  Michael will join us at Hoss’s on Wednesday August 19!  Circle the date!  September’s speaker is pending confirmation.
